Default 2006 1.1 Alto Rear Wheel Bearings - a discovery!

Discovery number 1: My local garage is quite honest - after a rear wheel bearing failed the MOT, they positively invited me to fix it as the cheapest kit they could find was 117.

Discovery number 2: The rear bearing that did pass was the one I replaced last week - and I used a 9.50 Renault Clio kit. The bearing is 4mm short, but I used 52mm circlips as shims to pack it out.

Discovery number 3: Vauxhall Agila rear wheel bearings are identical to the original equipment, and still only 21 from gsfparts. The circlip will also fit, and I am optimistic about the nut (it is an M18 too) and the cap.

Question number 1: Alto brake drums are not the easiest things to find. I have a dimensioned dawing of the Agila ones courtesy of Google. When I take mine off tomorrow and get the ruler out, I wonder if they are interchangeable too?

Well, drums might be a match, but would need to fit one to see so I'll watch for a local, used one on ebay. Bearing, circlip and cap would have been a perfect fit, apart from the fact the bearing was faulty. Half the bore was 25mm, but the other half was 24.9!
