Default 2000 Alto Cigarette lighter.

Hey all,

My lighter in my cars packed up, which is a right pain as I often need it to charge a phone etc as we do now. I think Im right in saying its not going to be a fuse as this would affect radio and clock as well?

So, any ideas? And is it gonna be a ball ache to replace if thats what needs doing as I havent managed to find a free manual yet.

I had this problem myself. The Cigar lighter recepticals are a joke and are made of a flimsy metal alloy, it sounds like it's that or the wiring loom. I was using a plug in car heater and the heat generated from the plug literally melted the contacts on the whole socket! It's a simple job to fix, you will need to get a replacment Cigar lighter receptical from halfords (9 odd). Simply unscrew the back of the faulty receptical from under the dashboard, connect the new one and tighten it up.
I hope it helps although this looks like this is an old question so probably useless but it might help some one.
