Default Noise when driving on wet roads

Hi I have a 2013 alto SZ2 which makes a noise when driving in wet conditions. It sounds as tho it is coming from the exhaust, I was just wondering if anyone else has had similar issues and what it could be ?

Hi, you are not alone! There's a small group of us trying to get Suzuki to admit there is a problem. Our cars have been in our respective dealerships countless times to no avail. We have already written to them and got a reply but they won't admit there is a fault. Please give more details on your problem, whether the performance is also affected, which it is on our cars. This is a serious safety issue.

The more owners that complain about this the better chance we have of getting something done about it.

I'm one of the group, as Frank says you need to get your altos into the dealer, that way Suzuki might listen.

Hi

I too have a 64 reg alto and it is doing the same thing they have told me after a visit from a man from head office that it drives under performance, just explained the performance is not the main issue here unless the noise affects the performance. The noise is annoying and I did not pay 5500 for a brand new car to do this. It has tried to be fixed twice by the garage before the decision it is a characteristic of the car! which may I add did not do this for the first year I had it and where on the forecourt do the tell you it is a characteristic before you buy it. Total sham don't want to admit there is an issue and have to sort all the cars with this problem out.

Result today I was told to take it up legally which I will do. Suzuki are a joke and I will never buy or recommend them to anybody

Hi paulandkaren8.

Wayne and I have written 2 letters to Suzuki about this but they deny it's an issue.Like you we've been told "they're all the same" and it's a "characteristic". Wayne had a new exhaust back box put on under warranty, no improvement, I replaced the complex exhaust joint just before the centre section at my own expense thinking that was the problem, an improvement at first but once it had been on for a while it's back to the noise.

Wayne is taking his case to the ombudsman and I will give information to them if required. Please tell us what the garage tried to fix so we can compare notes and see if we can take the matter further, also what the man from head office said about the performance.

We're fairly sure it's exhaust related as it only happens when water comes in contact with it or in cold weather. It must be something to do with the metal contracting and expanding.

I'm in Scotland and my dealer says I'm the only person who's complained about this but Wayne's dealer has had quite a few. It's either a design fault, the quality of the exhaust or manufacturing that's the problem and there's too many of us with the same problem for Suzuki to ignore this.Look forward to your reply

Frank

Hi.

I have the same problem and have been reporting it for months.

Suzuki have done two reports, one conducted on a boiling hot dry day and last week on a damp day resulting in them not being able to fault the car as the fault occurs only when it's raining

More owners need to get on to Suzuki customer services ask for Emma Dick , as this needs to be sorted

Just had my Alto a month it's a 2014. First couple of weeks, spot on. Then the wet thing happened and it's awful. So would like to be part of the thread and help if there is anyway I can. Thanks to FrankieD1 for pointing me here.
