Unhappy Suzuki Alto Aerial Removal (2005)

Hi All,

My aerial snapped off the other day so I got replacement and had a go at fitting myself. Not going so well haha!

You have to pull it through the side of the car underneath the dashboard / steering wheel, where the fuse box etc. is. I've tied a piece of string to the end of the aerial connection so that when I pull it completely through the roof, there will still be string in the car so I can guide the new aerial back through.

Unfortunately, where the aerial's about to disappear into the white plastic shrouding in the side of the car, it's got completely stuck :-( I can't pull it any further, but I can't seem to pull it back into the car either. I've tried everything I can think of, and all tools at my disposal, to remove / break the white plastic shrouding, as from reading up it appears this isn't needed, and getting rid of it would make the gap larger and easier to feed the aerial out/in. I'm having no joy though, it doesn't seem to budge, probably thanks to me getting the aerial stuck :-P and there's not a great deal of room to maneuver hands / tools down there with everything else in the way.

Anyone had any experience with this and got any tips....or is this gonna be a trip to a garage for me?

Thanks in advance!
