Default Tires, and lift question...

Yeah... I know that the answer to a question that I have is probably here somewhere.. today I don't have time to research it, however, I have a '90 Geo Tracker in stock form. I want to put bigger tires on it. the biggest tires without a lift is 235 75R 15 and that is with a rear wheel rub on the fender wells. I want to avoid the tire rub and maybe put bigger tires on it than those. How much of a lift, and what kind (spring or frame) can I safely put on the car without getting top heavy and then what size tires I can use with that lift? Also, the car needs new struts and shocks. With any lift, do I need to go with a longer shaft strut and shock absorber? Thanks.. I'm monitoring this thead... I am new here and would appreciate the benefit of y'alls experience.
