On the other hand, if you use 4wd every time you drive up your driveway, it would be a royal pita to have to remember to lock and then unlock the hubs as opposed to just getting in and driving away. What I do is start the car, shift from 2wd into 4wd, shift the tranny into reverse, back up 2 - 3...

Oh, man. Was it from a cold start? Like let it sit overnight & operating temperature in under 2 minutes? That and the lunch I think are key. Also keeping a steady throttle at speeds mentioned. Also the stop without using the brake pedal for whatever reason. Hope you have better luck next time...

I do not know how you are situated. For me the drive cycle worked as it is supposed to but I live within a couple miles from the freeway. I had the same not ready's as you mentioned. What I did to help it along was . . . . . . Start engine and hold it at 2000 - 2200 RPM's to get it to...

It's been my experience that those darn Bambiez will blindly jump directly into the high beams. My last one cracked the plastic grill, knocked out the drivers side headlight & bent the bumper. That was on an 81 Toyota 4x4, had it been one of the Trackers I might have had to walk home. Sweet...

    Sidekick/Escudo/Vitara/ Geo/X-90 &Tracker(’89-’98)
Yup, I made one (meh, 10 minutes with a grinder & wiz wheel) and was going to replace the mod, no, not those mods. The valve. Anyway, the vacuum line was loose so I added a hose clamp and PRESTO just like magic problem was all gone. My problem was not slippage but extended second gear duration...
