    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
Changed the driver's door "stay open" and the EGR valve yesterday, hope this puts an end to the P0400 code. Must order the gasket from Suz. it was missing. Picked up the parts at the recycle yard. Pure luxury having the door stay open and not closing when on a slant or a wee breeze is...

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
I had the front bumper painted, it was purchased new, but it was not convenient to go to the body shop. Required because I was knocked off the road in January. The front cross-member was straightened the day before, along with adjusting the front of the car. Scrapes on the rear bumper and rust...

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
The automatic transmission in my the 2000 GLX 2000 wagon was not shifting into 3rd gear. This happened before, and I bought solenoids at the recycler and life was good. The OBD gave the code P0751, which was the shift solenoid A. A friend suggested that I try this product, he said a friend had...

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
Sorry to take so long with replying, had a hard time getting in touch with my mechanic. He said that without the fluid the clutches inside would overheat and damage themselves. He said it was time to change the transmission unfortunately. When I tried to pin him down he said 30 min. of driving...
  7. Drive Shaft/Transmission Seals

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
My 2000 Esteem GLX wagon had to replace the drive seal on the passenger side and it was an absolute horror show. Napa could not provide the correct seal, after two attempts I gave up on them. I even had the number of the old seal off the old seal, given to me by my mechanic. Suzuki was no...

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
Jake my 2000 GLX wagon came with powered locks but no remote. I went to a shop that sold remotes, hitches, windshields and they installed a remote for me and that was several years ago. The fee was a hundred dollars Cdn. I suspect it was something like this; ebay item # 333217644412 Car...

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
Glad to hear you got it sorted and like the car so well to make the effort, and are able to do it yourself with out a lift, very impressive. Those "Mazda" Esteem GLX's are pretty rare :D so I'm pleased to see you are keeping it on the road with an engine transplant. I may be doing the same...
  10. Timing chain

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
Yes, however the engine must be raised while remaining in the car to remove the water pump pulley. This involves removing the mounting bolts of the engine while the transmission remains attached to the engine. Best you have a manual to attempt this repair/maintenance.

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
Yes they are not the best design, Amazon has a wide assortment of cushions, type in "auto cushions" or "auto cushions back" and I'm certain you will find something that she will like. I'm not aware of any adjustments to the seat to improve the situation. Welcome to the forum.

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
I purchased a pair on Amazon Dec. 24, 2018 Picture is not correct in the listing. Fit was poor, was able to get only one screw in on the mounting flange. I mounted one side only, the side that had failed, it was too cold to mess with the other side. Lifetime warranty. Fitment may be inaccurate...
