  1. Not shifting

    Suzuki Verona/Chevrolet Epica Daewoo/Magnus
It is likely a low voltage issue. Charge the battery, and make sure the terminals are clean. Then get the battery and alternator tested. This happens to me whenever my battery runs down. It seems many people are having this problem now. Must be another problem here, with something else...
  2. Hold Light 2004 Suzuki Verona

    Suzuki Verona/Chevrolet Epica Daewoo/Magnus
This happens to me every time I have a low battery issue. If your starting voltage is not right, there is some kind of issue with the hold light coming on, and the car will not go into 1st gear, but the upper gears work fine(at least in my Verona, a 2006). Make sure your terminals are both...
  3. Suziki Verona 2006

    Suzuki Verona/Chevrolet Epica Daewoo/Magnus
NEVER DO THIS ON MORE RECENT CARS!!!! As mentioned above, this is a way to really cause damage to your vehicle. And these Verona's are more susceptible to electric problems than any other car out there. You need to have your alternator tested, many times it is what causes your battery to die.
  4. 2006 verona no gas peddle response

    Suzuki Verona/Chevrolet Epica Daewoo/Magnus
The 2006 does not have a throttle cable, it is electronic. I have had this problem with mine before, and I think it was an electricity issue. Have your alternator and battery tested, it may have something to do with it. This can be done for free at big box auto parts stores.
  5. 2006 Verona P2070 and P2138 codes

    Suzuki Verona/Chevrolet Epica Daewoo/Magnus
Hoping to get some help here. I was driving my Verona on the highway home last night and it was pulling like normal, but about 30 miles into my trip, I found myself pushing the pedal further to the floor to maintain speed. I soon found that I had to floor it to just go 60mph, and it had a...
  6. Oil change

    Suzuki Verona/Chevrolet Epica Daewoo/Magnus
I drive my 2006 120 miles per day to get to work, and am doing everything I can to try to get my mpg up. The best I have achieved is 28mpg and rarely get that. So I was wondering, has anyone used a thinner oil in the Verona? I am planning on trying 5w20 or 0w20 as opposed to the recommended...
  7. Esteem subframe recall?

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
You are too late for the recall-it is only good for cars up to 12 years old (from date of manufacture). I called on a 2001 i owned. And don't expect any help from the Suzuki USA phone number, I quickly got the hint that they exist to only be a person to turn you away. Anyways, there are a...
  8. Help with finding bushing (with pictures)

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
You need to replace the whole part, I doubt the bushing can be attained alone, and if so, it will probably not work if stuffed back in. Google the part number on your first picture, and you should be able to find some leads from there.
  9. Faulty control arm bolt-on point

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
So the Esteem is dead. I cannot get all the bolts off the frame, and I refuse to put the hundreds, possible thousands, of dollars into it which it will need to get finished. With 181,000 miles on it, I think that this one is finished as a ride for someone. Although the engine is still running...
  10. Faulty control arm bolt-on point

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
Ok, so plan A has failed, I attempted to run another heli-coil in it, but the metal destroyed the tap. So I will be replacing the front suspension crossmember, which Suzuki failed to replace during the recall, which this car had "received" according to Suzuki. I am mad they won't support their...
  11. Faulty control arm bolt-on point

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
Thank you for the reply. That will be an expensive fix, as I don't have a welder. Looks like I am going to be replacing the crossmember, I believe I have source a good shape older one. Will respond back with more details once done.
  12. Faulty control arm bolt-on point

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
I am tackling yet another front end issue with my Esteem. When I replaced the halfshafts, I noticed that my driver side ball joint boot was completely broke in half, so I finally got to ordering the new control arm for it. So I went about wrenching on it, and the old one came off easily...
  13. Esteem cv shaft replacement

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
I am sorry to come back to this so late, but if you are still having the problem, you likely have one of 2 issues-either: -The halfshaft is not going in completely. You remedy this by removing the shaft from the transmission and rotate it slightly and pop it back in. The "pop" is the...
  14. Front suspension clunk when steering?

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
Yes, Searcy is a great place to live, if you like a slower pace. We moved from Cabot last year, and Cabot we prefer, but it is a little expensive there, and we moved up here for better schools as we have a child with autism. We are Pennsylvania transplants, and I personally like it down here...
  15. Esteem cv shaft replacement

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
I may be mistaken, but wasn't that the part which was recalled a few years ago?
  16. Struts

    Suzuki Verona/Chevrolet Epica Daewoo/Magnus
    Any updates on this?
  17. Water Pump 2000 Esteem 1.8l

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
Man, I think they do stuff like that on purpose so you have to bring the car into a shop. Like in the manual, it won't tell you the amount of transmission fluid the car takes because you should, and I quote, "trust your Suzuki mechanic to complete this service for you". What irony. I did...
  18. Precat Deadcat NoCat

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
I have had a somewhat similar experience. Last September, when returning from a drive, the idle dropped way low, and the tach needle went below 0, and it kept trying to stall unless I feathered the gas. This would happen until it would finally die and I had to then jump the car, as the battery...
  19. Front suspension clunk when steering?

    Suzuki Esteem & Baleno Forum
I have this same clunk. When I bought my Esteem from my father in law, it had just had the front end recall repair done to it, and he said that it hadn't been making that clunk before. I did replace both cv shafts as they both were bad at the outboard cv joints, and still the clunk, but it...
  20. Universal Catalytic Converter?

    Suzuki Verona/Chevrolet Epica Daewoo/Magnus
Will an '06 work without cat converters? I live in a state where there is no inspection.
