  1. Grille Guard for my car!

    1G (2001-2006) XL-7
A Vitara or Grand Vitara of the same vintage will be very similar under the sheet metal - at least at the front.
  2. What Engine Do I Have? Engine Was Swapped And I Don't Know What's In It.

    Sidekick/Escudo/Vitara/ Geo/X-90 &Tracker(’89-’98)
The engine shown in the fourth & sixth pictures appears to be a 1.6 16v engine - find the engine number which should be stamped along the edge of the block alongside the bellhousing, I believe on the driver's side - it should look something like G16A-012345 or G16B-098765 - if we get that, we...
  3. Removing Pistons

    Suzuki Carry & Every Forum
More out of curiosity than anything else, where exactly is the engine, and is this a Carry van? All of the Carry vans I've seen had the engine in front, under the seats.
  4. Grille Guard for my car!

    1G (2001-2006) XL-7
Commercially available "grille guards" rarely cover that area - I think you're going to have to get something custom built, or source a replacement bumper, which as you already know does not provide any significant protection.
  5. blown fuse replacement, rough idling

Suzuki Swift and Geo Metro Forum
I'd think it would be quite rare for a portable DVD player to pull more than 10A - it's more likely that the unit, or it's power supply arrangement is faulty.
  6. Parts interchange question

    2G (1999-2005) Vitara & Grand Vitara
The problem is a worn rotary encoder (the piece behind the knob) that is intermittently making poor contact - the unit can't tell which direction you're turning the knob. This would be my approach - I'd go for one that takes either USB or SD media - I haven't actually used an audio CD in many...
  7. I need your help with 1991 suzuki sierra

Suzuki Jimny, Sierra & Samurai Forum
The temperature gauge is not a precision device, there are no calibrations and no "normal" on it, every vehicle will have a different "normal running temperature" indication - if you have a concern, get a precision measuring device, for example an IR gun, or a digital multitester with a...
  8. Parts interchange question

    2G (1999-2005) Vitara & Grand Vitara
Head units come in two form factors - single DIN & double DIN - the OEM radio/cassette on a 2000 GV is a single DIN unit, and unless I'm mistaken, the unit on a 2005 XL-7 is double DIN. Even though the OEM radio on the 2000 GV is a single DIN unit, the dash is designed to accommodate a double...
  9. blown fuse replacement, rough idling

Suzuki Swift and Geo Metro Forum
You need to slow down and get the details correct - no vehicle manufacturer will ever supply a vehicle that does not allow the accessories to be used in any combination you might choose. What are you supposed to do if you need to drive with the a/c on, listen to the radio, and want to use the...
  10. 2003 Suzuki Vitara Car won't start

    2G (1999-2005) Vitara & Grand Vitara
This is what is considered a "no crank" situation - when you turn the key to on, the dash lights come on, when you turn the key to start, the engine does not crank - the problem can be the starter, the ignition switch, if it's an automatic transmission, the neutral safety switch, if it's a...
  11. 88 Suzuki samurai engine swap 1.0 to 1.3

Suzuki Jimny, Sierra & Samurai Forum
The VIN would probably be the best place to start - an 87/88 Samurai anywhere in the US, assuming an official import would/should be an SJ413 - which would have had a 1.3 engine, with a Hitachi electronic feedback carb.
  12. Does anyone know about this valve

    Canada
Getting a camera/phone in place to take a picture is not as easy as I thought... Visually, that valve appears identical to the one on my 98 GV. The front brake circuit reference line from the master cylinder connects to the port closest to the bleed nipple - it's the lowest (bottom facing)...
  13. 88 Suzuki samurai engine swap 1.0 to 1.3

Suzuki Jimny, Sierra & Samurai Forum
Syb, Let me explain how this works - you're the one asking for help - until & unless the folks on this side of the internet understand what it is you need help with, the responses you get may be misleading, confusing or just down right incorrect. That's the reason I'm asking for the details -...
  14. G16a EFI to Carb

    Sidekick/Escudo/Vitara/ Geo/X-90 &Tracker(’89-’98)
The answer to your question is as simple as comparing what you have to what you bought. Now if you had told us what engine you bought, we might be in a better position to answer. For what it's worth, in the US market, the G16 engines never came with a carb, they were all EFI, 8v engines had...
  15. Super Mod Bex. Congrats are in order...

    Sidekick/Escudo/Vitara/ Geo/X-90 &Tracker(’89-’98)
There's a three dot "thread edit" menu to the right of the first post, click on it for thread edit options
  16. Efi to carb conversion

    Sidekick/Escudo/Vitara/ Geo/X-90 &Tracker(’89-’98)
Are we supposed to guess what engine you're fitting this harley carb to? Is there a prize if we guess right? How helpful our answers are going to be will really depend on the specifics that you have neglected to provide - yeah, I get it, it's a first gen Sidekick/Tracker/Escudo/X-90 - probably...
  17. How do you bypass a LSPV on a Grand Vitara

    2G (1999-2005) Vitara & Grand Vitara
I don't think the LSPV allows flow from one circuit into the other - as far as I know the reason the front circuit is fed to the LSPV is to provide a reference point - for a given "load" the more pressure in the front circuit, the higher the 'cut off' limit in the rear circuit - the exception is...
  18. We Are Live - Community Feedback

    Community Help
In some ways it was "broke" Max. One of the quirks with software development, is that the underlying platform on which it runs changes, older hardware fails and has to be replaced with newer hardware, older software no longer runs on the newer hardware, and as the "online world" changes...
  19. Does anyone know about this valve

    Canada
The three ports are the rear brake circuit inlet, the rear brake circuit outlet, and the front brake circuit (which is used as a reference), there are no 'return" lines - assuming that you have the correct LSPV for your application, it should be a direct remove & replace - disconnect the lines...
  20. 2000 Vitara auto shift kit

    2G (1999-2005) Vitara & Grand Vitara
The transmission used on a 2000 Vitara is the AisinWarner 03-72LE - I'm not certain what it is you're trying to achieve - shift quicker can be interpreted in different ways, shift earlier is one way, and that would involve changing the shift points, another way is to have it shift at the same...
