Default Cost to Upgrade ECU in 05 Suzuki forenza

I have been trying to figure out my car's problem for what seems like centuries. I have a 2005 Suzuki Forenza LX. The engine light used to cut on at high speeds. It kept putting out a P0300 code for the longest until I had my mechanic scan it using a new $4500 scanner. Turns out, it's not a P0300 code. It's really a P1779, which he explained was an Engine Torque Input Malfunction. He said I would have to take it back to the dealership and have the ECU software updated. Has anyone had their ECU updated by the dealership?? How much will this cost??
