Default GV Shudders when in low gear low revs

Hi
Here is my problem. I own a 2007 Grand Vitara. I bought it used just under 2 months about with 40,000 miles on the clock.

When I drive in section gear at low speed it shudders aggressively. It's ok when building up speed quickly and then changing up to third but if say, I want to pull into my driveway in 2nd or if i'm slowly moving in a queue of traffic in 2nd, it will then shudder. The whole front dash and steering column shudders like crazy. The only way to stop this is to go slower in 1st gear or to accelerate to higher revs.

Now dropping down into 1st gear isn't convenient if i want to drive say 10-15mph. That would increase my revs greatly and case a jerky ride.

Does anyone know what my problem is? It's frustrating as I've had it less than 2 months and the used car garage thinks this is normal and just down to my driving style.

Thanks
Matt

PS- The turbo failed last night, throwing oil out everywhere and I had to be towed home

PPS - Are these guys usually noisey at 60-70mph?
