because of the bms's high filter mount id say clearance would be your biggest problem with going any bigger, but if you can find a longer filter that fits go for it, but id stick with the bms's size. but when it comes to filters, they are all the same as to filtration, they all use oil to help capture particles, except k&n which dont have oil just a better micro fiber.

Maybe not all K&N filters use oil but most of them do. When I cleand and recharged my Terminator filter I used a K&N recharge kit. $10 at Auto Zone. Ive checked alot of air filters doing service checks in a shop and I can't think of 1 single K&N filter that didn't have oil. Recharging filters was one of the services we provided. And Im not sure K&N filters are really that much better than some of the cheaper competition.

As for the original question. Im not sure but doesn't the BMS intake have the filter mounted vertically and some what high up off of the plastic sheild on the bottom of the car? I would use the biggest one that fit, the amount of air that can flow threw a filter is determined by the surface area of the filter. My question though is will you pick up enough extra air flow for it to be worth the price of the filter. A K&N the size of the one in your pic will be over $60 at the parts store and probly over $80 at a service shop.

Not to beat a dead horse but you could keep the stock filter and for less than $20 increase the air flow by building a ram air cowling around the filter.

Bigger filter will not cause a problem at all. More surface area=easier breathing and more airflow, as long as the filter is well designed.

I agree with DeRoc23. The important part is keep up the air velocity through the intake in to the motor. The filter plays no part in this but intake tube size does.

See it is in line the way the pistons should fire. Think about it like a loop. Even if 2 fiers first it still runs threw 1,2,3,4. Im not saying thats right, becuase 1 should fire first but the car would run like that.

Could also be that in side the coil pack 1 is firing first. Ill look later and se what order mine are in.
