Default Chevrolet Tracker 2002 2wd 2.5l Engine

Hello guys,

I'd like to know what suzuki engine does my CHEVROLET TRACKER 2002 2WD 2.5L has. My vehicle is having some problems right now and I need to get reliable parts for it. I love this suv and I am keeping it for a few years more. Also where in the model specific forum can I get information regarding this vehicle esp. the engine for maintenance purposes like service manuals etc.

Thanks,
Nonie

It's known as the H25A engine, and your Tracker is equivalent to the 2002 Grand Vitara. so you use the 1g (1999-2005) Vitara & Grand Vitara forum.

I'll post a link to the manuals shortly - gotta search for it.

Please be aware - your Tracker is not a 100% clone, there are some differences, mostly trim, and the front brakes ARE different.

Edit

This thread has a link to download the manuals from.

Default suzuki engine

Hello,

Thank you very much for your response. I ran into some problems with my chev tracker because of the faulty MAF sensor AHFM55-13 from the P0102 code. When idle, after 30 to 45 sec. the engine stalls, and driving in a freeway it hesitates to accelerate from 60 above. It took forever for me to search for this maf sensor and found out that this goes with the whole throttle body. Very much frustrated I searched this item on ebay and found an aftermarket MAF and tested it out since it was mentioned that it will work with my suzuki v6 2.5l engine.

Brought it to the mechanic and installed it. First problem I encountered is that we have to file one of the sides to make a perfect fit. Thought it will solve my P0102 problem but it didnt. When in idle, the vehicle vibrates as if its chocking out of air but it doesn't stall, very much different from the orignal problem. We have ruled out that the maf sensor is defective or not compatible. I even went to salvage parts or junkyard to look for that part but cannot find any suzuki or chevrolet tracker on site. Cant return it on ebay coz we altered the connector. I wasted $140.00 for this sensor.

Just for curiousity sake, where should I buy this part?

I finally decided to give up and traded it with Honda. Maybe if this is a common part available to dealer store or autozone, I still would have considered retaining it.

Thanks guys,
Nonie
