I have an 86 Samurai with a stock carb. It would stumble on acceleration after engine warm-up. I installed the snorkel fix in the carb, no help.
The cause turned out to be a defective idle-position microswitch on the carb.
The engine will cut-off fuel flow when the RPM is over 2400, the coolant temperature is up to normal and the throttle is at idle.
The bad microswitch was indicating idle-position all the time.
