pocheese Just got done pulling out the crank. It looks good.
Crank gear bolt came out no problem. The bearings look amazingly well considering the noise it was making, all except cyl #4 rod bearing, it's scored. I think there is a problem with the lubrication system on that cylinder anyway. A friend 10 years ago that I used to zuk blew 2 #4 rod bearings on his motors, then I gave him my zuk, because he needed a motor, and I had picked up an audi. He blew cyl#4 rod bearing in that one 2 months later. I had it for 2 years, never a problem. The front and rear main seal were not leaking. I thought I tore this thing up after I hydrolocked it. I'm glad I had the oil changed 7 miles after it happened, otherwise there is no way I would have made it the 60 interstate miles back to the shop.
I'll send a pic to you tomorrow and get everything cleaned up and ready to ship. Just need your email message. Crank visually looks great. I can send with the main bearings, rod bearings, and thrust washers marked for their location. Maybe all the noise was coming from just that #4 bearing. This thing didn't have much of a ring groove at all, I was impressed. A good amount of sludge in the pan though. Pickup screen was clear. I'll have to look close at that con rod tomorrow and see if I bent it. I had given away the carb and intake to a friend but the carb wasn't in good shape. I bet that head isn't bad at all.
