Default starting suzuki club, need advice

So I finally decided to start a local Suzuki club in Southwest Louisiana, USA. I'm trying to get some info from anyone that has done this. I do plan on having membership require you to pay a small amount of annual dues. because of that do I need to file 501(c)3 ? Any advice from someone that has experience with this would be appreciated. Also if anyone from my area is interested in joining please let me know.

I didn't. I have yet to get any advice on the topic. I still want to start a club/organization of some type. Even if it's an informal thing where "members" meet up to help out with troubleshooting problems or mild trail rides.

Default local club...

We had an informal club here in the Kansas City area. Someone set up a forum and those who joined the forums became "members". Weekend meetings were set up - usually at an eating establishment like Pizza Street or a local Mexican restaurant. We basically brought our trucks, ate, swapped/bought parts and talked tech.

You could do the same with a closed Facebook group, I suppose. It would cost less but the content would be unsearchable.
