Starts but wont crank?

It has to crank before it can start... are you asking us to guess?

No sound = no crank
Grrrrrrrrr = crank
Vrrrm = Start/run

You have to supply correct info... do a visual on timing, then a compression test..

your kind of a smartass aren't you
if you would read I installed new timing belt so already visually checked the timing
I was asking if I could possibly have the crankshaft 180 degrees off

well, you did visually check the timing marks......if they are correct then you work out how its out by 180 degrees.

do a compression check first.
