Default amp and sub installation issues

Hi all! I've got an 07 XL 7. My husband and his brother were trying to install our amp and subs from an old vehicle but they ran into a problem with the wiring?
From what I can understand, the wiring is different than most other cars. I think they couldn't find which wires to connect our new amp to. Does anyone have any info on this?
I tried calling Suzuki and they told me I could find a manual online and look at the wiring diagram so I paid for the manual and then couldn't get any photos to show up :/

fordem will become famous soon enough

What level of experience do your husband and his brother have with this type of work - and what is the specific problem that they are experiencing?

I'm not familiar with the 07 XL7 - which is actually a GM built vehicle - but - the wiring aspects of an amp & subwoofer installation do not change significantly from vehicle to vehicle.

The "new" amp will require input wiring to connect it to the existing head unit, which may or may not be designed to feed a subwoofer, it will require output wiring to connect it to the subwoofer, which should not be an issue if both were removed from the same vehicle, power wiring which is dead simple, and a control link to the head unit to turn it on or off, which as with the input wiring may or may not be present depending on the head unit.

There are after market add-ons that can be used to allow a head unit not designed to drive a subwoofer to do so, but the selection of an appropriate unit will depend on what head unit and amp/subwoofer you have.

Maybe it's time to have someone familiar with car audio systems take a look.
