1996 Geo Tracker for sale, $1500
I have for sale a 1996, 2-door convertible Geo tracker.
Transmission: 3spd automatic
Paint: Faded Green
Top: Removable hard top
Location: Provo, UT
Engine runs great. Has never given me any trouble. I have put fully synthetic oil in it for the last 20k miles, which is how long I've owned it. It leaves an occasional oil drip, but because it's 2wd it would not be very hard to change the oil pan gasket or the valve cover gasket!
Transmission runs well. If it sits for a long time, it's a little slow going on start-up, but I have had it to a reputable transmission shop that gave it a clean bill of health. Trans Fluid was changed at 92k miles.
It has a couple of minor issues:
There is a faint pully-whine that just showed up recently under the hood. It started leaving coolant drips about the same time, leading me to believe the water pump is to blame. Temperature ranges during operation are great.
The grille fell off a couple of weeks ago when I pulled into a parking lot. The screw-holes have chipped out, so it will take a little bit of creativity to reattach it. Silicone maybe? (As evidenced by the pictures, I tried using exterior construction adhesive, but it turns out it's not as waterproof as i had hoped! Back to square one.)
The speedometer makes a buzzing sound and the needle popped off. Reattaching the needle will be easy, but it still will buzz occasionally.
In a moment of curiosity, i disassembled the ignition switch. The tumblers... tumbled. Instead of replacing the switch, I thought it would be neat to install a push-button ignition. I left the wiring harness, key cylinder, and steering wheel lock intact, so for about $40 or a junkyard swap the ignition will behave normally again.
The center console was missing when I bought it.
The body is in pretty good shape (see pictures) and there is no rust that I'm aware of.
I have two brand new tires and two 50% tires on it.
Here are some pictures:
