Default Doors not Automatically locking

My new 2019 Suzuki Vitara GLX Auto doors aren't automatically locking when I start the car.

I had a 2016 model, which was in an accident, and the doors would automatically lock when I started the car, but in my new model, they do not.

I live in a city where hijacking risks are high, does anyone know how I can set the doors to lock automatically when I turn on the ignition.

1: welcome to the forum.

2. go see the dealer, this may not be an option on your model. If it is, they will have the factory scan tool to enable this in the security module.

Thanks, I did message my dealer, I'm awaiting a response, it's just strange that the exact model I bought 2 years ago had it, but this one it's not, unless it's been disabled in the updated version.

I remember a few years ago, I had to request that the auto door lock function be enabled on my Saab 9-3 on the first service as my particular model left the factory without it enabled. I'm not sure whether it is the case now, but I believe in some countries, the auto door locking function is not permitted? I've travelled extensively throughout South Africa myself and I'm used to driving there, so automatically locking the doors is something I do anyway, automatically!

On our own 2016 UK model Vitara, the door locks operate automatically.

Even here in the UK the odd unwanted surprise can happen. A few years ago I was sat at a set of robots when someone opened the back door of my Nissan and jumped in the back seat believing I was a cab driver. They soon found out I wasn't when I started shouting hysterically at them and made sure they understood I wasn't for hire!
