Default 2007 Suzuki XL7 won't go into gear

2007 Suzuki XL7 won't go into gear and has no codes. I changed shift solenoids and fluid but still won't engage. Reverse will not engage either. Issue wasn't sudden. It was shifting hard and had delay between 3 and 4 gear change. What is a probable culprit without a diagnostics?

anything...its a pure guess without a diagnosis. Hard shifting and delay points to possible valve body problems, pressure, clutch packs or seals

its all a guess.

get line pressure checked for a start.

Changing shift solenoids rarely cures the issue, its more than likely sludge build up in the valve body blocking oil galleries, jamming the valves and causing bigger issues in the clutch packs.

the fact reverse won't engage either makes me suspicious of pump or filter and pickup issues or possibly pressure control solenoid and associated valve stuck open.

You did put the filter back on properly? and changed it when you were in there?
