Thanks Fordem
I understand VIN is 17 digits number, but this chassis number is less than that.
I requested quote for spares from the Suzuki Dealer but they demanded part numbers of the spares. I thought they should find the part number in their system by the information I provided to them why should they need Part Number?

First - you're not guaranteed to find a 17 digit Vehicle Identification Number on any vehicle not destined for the US market, US federal law requires their VIN to follow a specific format, some other countries have similar requirements, outside of those countries the manufacturer can uses any numeric sequence they choose.

Your VIN tells me the model is HT51S and the serial number is 820048

Second - the HT51S suggests you have a used JDM export, and if I'm correct, your local Suzuki dealer cannot pull the details up in their database using the VIN, and therefore cannot tell you with any degree of accuracy, what parts will fit it.

Default How can I tell the model of a Suzuki Swift

I am looking to purchase a Suzuki Swift from a friend but I don't have the VIN number. He has only supplied me with the Model number and Chassis number which I have listed below.
Is it possible to know the model number from the below information? I really want to research this vehicle. I also realize that the dashboard layout is way different to what I am accustomed to in the Swift. I've tried uploading it as a reference. Hope you can help.

MAKE: Suzuki
MODEL: SWIFT
MODEL NO.: ??
BODY TYPE: Saloon (Closed top)
COLOUR: Grey
CHASSIS NO.: ZC7S-361772
ENGINE NO.: K12B-2010040
ENGINE CAPACITY: 1200 CC
FUEL: Petrol
NUMBER OF EXCEL: 2
MANUFACTURE YEAR: 2015
IMPORTED FROM: JAPAN

Please tell me you read the thread before posting in it - your "VIN" or Vehicle Identification Number is the chassis number - ZC7S-361772 - not all vehicles will have a 17 digit VIN, see post #4 for an explanation.
