Default Stereo Display problems

Hi Folks

I have a problem with my Swift 2004 stereo. It's a Clarion stereo and the CD player no longer ejects the CD. Now this is not actually the problem... in attempting to fix the cd player(with having little idea what I was doing and thinking 'i'll just pull it apart' - not smart) I tried pulling off the facia. Instead of fixing it I made it worse. The display no longer lights up and both the volume control and tuning control have strange clicking sounds as you use them. The steering wheel controls still work fine and the stereo still 'works' (ie still plays radio - I don't bother with CDs anymore) but I cannot see what station the radio is on nor can i really use the dash controls beacuse of these strange clicking sounds.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? I've searched the net and this forum with no success.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
