Default Suzuki swift sport ticking engine

I have a Suzuki swift sport 2011 there is a ticking sound coming from under the hood as I accelerate the ticking speeds up too? Any ideas if it's the valve lifters or something more serious.... The oil level seems to be fine

it might be tappet noise, I think those ones are shim and buckets, only way to tell is get in there and check clearances.

Is it noticeable at idle? get under the hood and listen for where the noise is coming from, rev it and try and locate the noisy area. I have had "tapping" come from very unlikely places including a worn serpentine belt tapping on a pulley.

Seems like it's coming from the back of the block/ front of the exhaust manifold

you need to check all valve clearances and confirm that one of these is in fact an issue and the cause of your "tapping" noise.
You need specialised tools to change the shims which control valve clearances, and a stock of shims of appropriate thicknesses, this is best left to a decent mechanic to do this.

Will have it checked over the next couple of days..... Suppose it was tappets would all need changing or just the malfunctioning ones thank you for your help

if you find some valve clearances are out of spec, then you only need to change the shims on the ones that need it. Job best left to the professionals as they will have the tools to remove the undersize shims and fit the correct size ones.
