Unhappy new Suzuki swift 2017 radio wont turn off [ frozen ] ?

hi everyone
my dad has a new Suzuki swift 2017
the radio will not turn off and is frozen?
the on and off button wont do nothing and even by taking the keys out of the ignition it will not turn off
he took it back to the dealer but they didn't know ? and said Suzuki are having faults with this
but they found it does go off after half an hour when the car is not in use but surely there will be problems with the battery if this happens on a regular basis
has anyone else have this problem ?
is there like pressing 2 buttons at the same time or keeping finger on a button for so long ???? able to solve this problem

I had that happen with an after-market radio.
The radio itself shouldn't drain the battery too much since they draw very little.
Mine also leaves the 300-watt amp turned on which was a problem.
I may have solved the issue.

The problem might have to do with the engine being turned off when in reverse.
Since the shifter is what triggers the backup camera, it may keep the radio awake.
I am going to add a diode to see if that will resolve the matter.
If your car is a manual trans, try not leaving it in reverse when turning the engine off and see if it helps.

Best of luck.

Don

We are havenít the same problem with 2017 it is. Itís happened twice to us. It happened at 2000 km and now at 7200 km. I had to disconnect battery and reconnect to turn radio off.
