Put a scantool on it to see what codes are there, clear codes and see what new ones come up. Check fuel filter, when was it replaced. Did you buy fuel from a dodgy source?

Do not clear codes, there may be Freeze Frame and History data that is important for diagnosis.. Not to mention learned adaptive information..

Whilst there may be some data there, if 2 mechanics can't/haven't been able to do anything with it, I doubt the OP will glean much from it. But you never know. Old codes make it confusing for the layman to sort through. I hope it's just a partially blocked fuel filter or water in fuel for the sake of the OP.

The sad part of that is that many mechanics these days are parts changer and rely on the ECU codes, they cannot diagnose..

I have a Gson, 2nd yr mechanic, and he cannot diagnose, "Need codes"! he says..
