Default Emissions failure(CO2)

Hello.

My 1000cc 1999 wagon r has just failed its mot test on high co2 level (too rich).Has any one got any ideas on how to sort this problem out.I presume the ecu does all the adjustments but relies on some sort of air sensor to tell it whats happening.it was standing for a few months so i'm just wondering if it just needs a good clean up.Any ideas would be welcome.

thanks
