Default Master Power Window Switch

Does anyone know where I might be able to buy a Master Power Window Switch for a 99 Grand Vitara? I called my Suzuki Dealer and they said the part would cost $277, but if I can get it cheaper than $277, that would be good.

eBay? Junkyard?

SouthWest Suzuki has it a few bucks cheaper, RockAuto has it for $330

Do you really need to change the switch? They are fairly easy to take apart and usually all they need is to have the contacts cleaned.

If you take it apart watch for the plastic slides that work with the power lock button - two little squares of plastic that fall out and don't look they belong anywhere.

I'm going from memory here ...

After you remove the switch assembly from the door, flip it over and take out either four or six screws, you should be able to remove the top section and see the individual switches - each of which has an upper section that pivots on two pins.

Using a small screwdriver, ease the side of upper section outwards and slip it over the pin (one side at a time) - inside you will find a couple of small springs and plungers that fit into holes in the upper section and two small metal "rockers" that make the actual contact with the contact points in the base of the switch - one or more of the contact points will be blackened and scorched, just clean it up with a nail file or similar and then a paper towel with alcohol or similar, and reassemble.

Is it one particular switch or all the switches?

If it is one switch (anyone other than the driver's window) try cleaning the switch on the door itself before replacing the master - for example - if it's the window on the right rear door, clean the switch on that door.
