Odd, but possible I guess.

Have you had it since new? MAYBE she's been "modded".

My GV is my third Suzuki, and the eighth in the family - every one of these vehicles have had "bolt-on" bumpers, as have had every other vehicle I have owned or worked on.

It's my belief that it's industry standard practice to attach the bumpers using bolts - but as Max has suggested - a previous owner may have seen it fit to do otherwise.

I did exactly that on one of the vehicles I had - I redid portions of the frame rails on a Chrysler and could not be bothered with the additional work of fitting "blind nuts" inside the new box rails and just arc welded the bumpers to the rails.

I think perhaps the auto body shop just wanted to secure the bumper on in terms of their own way of doing things... previous owner was an old couple no modifications or vacuuming of the interior was done ... LOL!
