Can anyone help me with information to locate the country of where my 2002 GV was built? It is a diesel and needs a new piston. My mechanic tells me that in order to find the right size I need to know which factory this car came from.
Much appreciation
I will check under the hood. Thanks, that is a good idea...I hope the information I am looking for is there.
I have tried to contact a Suzuki dealer, but with no luck.
I am currently in the Caribbean and there are no dealers here.
Fortunate to find a man who can work on the vehicle.
Max,
There isn't any info under the hood. There is a blue tag rivited to the firewall but only gives paint color code and some other #'s.
Since I am in a third world country I can't even dial an 800 #. Suzuki does not answer any e-mails concerning this matter. I miss my car! It has been over 6-months of sitting in the yard, with the engine in the very back of the vehicle. I'm stuck here.
Any help would be sooo appreciated.
So far...I've called my local dealer, Suzuki America, and Del Caribe Suzuki in Puerto Rico with little luck.
There seems to be TWO diff diesel engines used by Suzuki. The right hand drive, Pacific version (Peugeot 2.0 L 4-cylinder 16-valve DOHC) looks like this.... Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.0 TD
Does yours?
I'm guessing that you have the Euro version (Renault), as.... "A turbo diesel engine (4 cyl. 1.9L 129 hp (96 kW) manufactured by Renault) is also available".
I haven't given up yet though!
