Unsure about 2.0 td gv???

Hi Folks,

I am looking for some advice and information. I am considering buying a 2002 2.0 td gv with 67000 miles on the clock, but whilst out on a test drive the engine emission warning lamp came on and the car went into limp mode ie would not rev past 2500. The salesman assures me that they will fix this fault as it is probably just a sensor. But I am very unsure as wether to proceed with the sale now, as I have said any info/advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Make sure they write up a repair ticket to see specifically what the error code was, what it means and that the fix they perform makes sense for this code. Boy, wish we could get TDs here in the states...
