Default Brake warning light and brakes problems

Hi guys

Iv had my Suzuki GRand Vitara XL-7 for 2 years now, and a couple of months ago my brake warning light (the same light as when hand brake is on?? right??) started to light up randomly. And would then go away be itself again.

Now its more often and im feeling some uneven braking right before coming to a halt when breaking. Also if I push the braking pedal slowly I am able to push it all the way to the floor.

Funny thing is that the car brakes fine and nothing has changed regarding the point on the pedal where it starts to brake. I have checked all brakes on all 4 wheels, and all appear to be normal.

I have read inhere somewhere about a shot master cylinder could cause this. But im not entirely sure the symtoms are the same. Anybody had similar problems, or can confirm my diagnostic?

Thnx in advance.

If brake pedal can be slowly pushed all the way to the floor - get it sorted PDQ. It is most likely a leaking seal in master cylinder, which if it goes in emergency braking - you will have no braking. Best to get a complete new master cylinder as you cannot afford afford to risk your (or anybody elses) life with a problem with a possible faulty recon unit. Check the rest of the system for leaks and or air locks at the same time as these can also be less likely causes.
