Engine light - Evap Can & Solenoid issues
About a year ago, the check engine light on my 2000 GV (53K miles)came on, and also started smelling fumes while drving. Dealer service diagnosed a bad Evap Canister, and I had it repaced. Light didn't come back on until last week (now 60K miles) but I did still occasionally smell fumes. Now dealer says it's the 'purge solenoid' which is "sticking." From my research this is part of the same system as the evap can, although I'm not clear if it's attached or just related. Of course this is another costly fix, not covered by extended warrantee. Anybody have these problems? Anyone knowledgable on these systems? Thanks!
