Default Engine SWAP

Ok folks I'm looking for some info & or help here. My wifes Daehoo? lost oil pressure, and locked up. So I figure it's toast. Since the last owner (original)had the samething happen.(car has 165K) used engine approx.75k put in. To me this makes it "A" commen problem. Since these 2.2lt engines are $$$$$. Is there a GM I4 or V6 that could be stuffed under the hood?? The big thing is how does it mate to the tranny(bolt pattern), the torqconverter fit. As far as the engine goes as long as I have the "complete" unit,(PCM & related items) I should B ok. So the Q is... What if any engines fit & what trans are in a 99 Daewoo with auto.? thanx Kram
