Question HOLD button

I have never used that black HOLD button just below the shift. Any Epica owners using it? I can't remember what it does, any help out there?:

From memory i believe it locks the transmission in the gear it is in at the time you press the 'lock' button .. I have an Epica 04 and i know it is in the hand book so if you want more info i can check it out, or ask a dealer.
Cheers,
Michael .....

If you use the hold button you can manually shift from 1 st to drive and it holds the gear so you can rev the engine higher in that gear which gives you alittle more performance. Or you can put it in 2nd when your at a stop sign or red light in snow or ice conditions and you start off in that gear minimizing wheel spin

my mechanic told me it will make gear shift to 3rd gear, this good in case of snowy or hard roads
