Thanks fordem. I took my SX4 in for inspection and they found it needed brakes and it has about 25,000 miles on it and I find it kind of strange the brake pads had such a short life.

You're welcome - that mileage does sound low, for a US based vehicle - but - it really does depend on usage, where I am, I can go through a set of quality pads in about that mileage.

I bought the ceramic pads this time they should last a little longer.

I have 30,000 miles and my brake pads look almost new.

I agree but in my case t didn't happen as expected and I hope the ceramic pads make the difference.

The specified 61.5 pounds is almost impossible to set, on a common Torque Wrench. I set mine at 65 Ft/Lb and never looked back. It just feels right!

As for brake pads.... at 40k miles I still had 3mm of pad left so I ordered a set of Delco Ceramic pads, but never got the chance to put them on.

Yes I agree the brakes should've lasted a lot longer and I ordered another set of OE Bendix brake pads to have on hand. And yes I did torque my lug nuts at 65 lbs as with all my other suzuki's because a few pounds aren't going to make a big difference seeing how most torque are so accurate in the first place.

Seems to depend on the car. My 96' Tracker calls for 65 ft-lbs, while my 98' Tracker FSM calls for 70 (seems a little high to me). I click in 65 and agree that it feels right.
