I know this will annoy the older members of this group, but I'd really like to find out how to access & maintain the spark plugs. Yes it's been posted before, I went about 10 pages deep & couldn't find it,and this group doesn't have a search engine. My computer is 10 years old, slow. I'm 51 years old and used to self-maintain my vehicles but these new-fangled vehicles are getting harder to work on. Please tell me where the spark plug pages are at,on this website, thanks!

Well let this 60 year old help you out. What year is your SX4?

It would have been sooo much nicer if the images actually matched the engine being discussed ...
He asked about the 2.0, those don't look like a J20 to me.
To reach the plugs, remove the engine cover - I believe it just pulls off - and you should see four coil packs. Disconnect & remove the coil packs (twist them before pulling up will usually break the seal that develops) and you'll find the plugs at the bottom of the plug tubes - you'll need a plug wrench with a long extension.

No match ? Possibly. THese are from the "til 2009" manual....saying:
"Applicable Model:
SX4 (RW415/RW416) produced at KOSAI plant in Japan with following vehicle identification number
(VIN)
JSAGY############ ~
JS2Y#############~"
so yes, probably not for the "new" engine installed in 2010 (though the engine is illustrated in the manual in VVT and non VTT versions) . Since the first post mentioned "auto transmission"....and not "CVT" (although it is still automatic) , I guessed it was relevant of the former model. Waiting for the thread starter to come specific about the year of his SX4....
...and as much as I could search in that manual, I could not find any engine model "type" or label....
The RW415/RW416 chassis designation tells me you're looking at the wrong manual, or the wrong part of the manual - those would be a 1.5 and 1.6 litre version of the SX4, which is borne out by the images, which show the M-series DOHC engine - you want the RW420, which has been in production since 2007 (the J20 engine itself has been around since 1998)
I also don't see why he needs to be specific about the year, he has already specified the engine - there's not going to be that much difference in the physical location of the plugs.

Ok..I should have noticed the *15 and *16 model numbers relating to 1500cc and 1600 cc....my mistake.
Will search again....
..well...there it is...I had it all the time....but again this manual does not apply , at least, not totally, to the 2010-up because of the transmission change from 4Speed to CVT.....
Applicable Model:
SX4 (RW420) produced at KOSAI plant in Japan with following vehicle identification number (VIN)
JSAGY############ ~
JS2Y#############~
By the way, the engine in this manual does not have VVT......is the addition of VVT the only difference that was introduced when the SUsuki pub told about the "new engine" in 2010 ?
Well..that is what MOtor Trend said in aug 2009 about the new 2010 version:
From MOtorTrend Aug. 2009
....Under the SportBack's stubby hood resides a slightly reworked version
of Suzuki's 150-hp, 2.0L VVT four-cylinder engine, up seven horses over last year's SX4 lineup......
Suzuki has revamped the SX4 line-up. The new models come with more power, better fuel economy and more safety and comfort items. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine now has variable valve timing which sees power increase 5 per cent to 112kW and torque rise 3 per cent to 190Nm.
ANd in CarAdvice:
Under the skin there is a whole new 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine (J20B ) producing 112kW and 190Nm of torque which is about a five per cent improvement over the outgoing model
The AutoChannel:
As previously, the SX4 has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. But it's an all-new powerplant, related to the 2.4-liter engine in Suzuki's new Kizashi flagship sedan
