I can live anywhere I choose. I choose 4 seasons. Been down there over the Christmas season and it stuck singling Christmas songs in shorts lol. Have fun down there and don't assume everyone wants the same as you do.
The warm weather down there would be nice when it gets below zero up here (northern New York) but I am with you, give me 4 seasons, nothing better than Fall here in the New England states.
Adjuster11, that's amazing. LESS discount now than before the bankruptcy!!?? Sounds like dealer has other reasons for not wanting to sell remaining inventory.
Let's not be too hard on the Soul. Good car in many ways. I don't think Kia's misinformation about mileage was 20%, but more like 5%. In any event, it brings the Soul's mileage almost down to the SX4's.
On the topic of FL weather, I have to come down on the side of 4 seasons. We in Newfoundland have 2 six month seasons: 6 months of winter and 6 months of bad weather! Just kidding, local joke. Actually, TheShadowFL's description of central FL sounds great. Weather extremes is what I want to avoid (although I have been guilty of looking for errands to run in the SX4 during a snowstorm).
I was biased against Korean cars since the days of the "disposable" Pony. But since seeing and riding in my daughter's boyfriend's Sonata GT, I have to admit they have improved greatly!!
I suspect they'll have to discount, 10-20% at least.
If the corporate chapter 11'd, I don't forsee "the company" chipping in for discounts, they are already out of money unless they factored in dought to unload the last of the herd.
I'd be curious as to any deals you see, ala Saab, Saturn, etc.
Saturday paper will probably show us what's going on.
I'd like to see what you're hearing for pricing in your part of the world.
In my area, NE OH, there are 2 red 2011 SX4s both manual, one with 12 miles one with under 1800 miles, for $12,000 a piece (reduced price). One dealer has already taken down the Suzuki name and can only schedule service on their website. The dealer is now selling Hyundais in a "new" facility that also used to sell Suzukis.
On auto123.com I just read this headline in the News section: "Suzuki Canada unveils changes to 2013 lineup". I cannot tell you how relieved I was to read that Suzuki will be "offering more content than ever" in the form of items such as "revised front fascia and turn signals, new exterior colours", etc. Seems Suzuki Canada is doing what is necessary to remain competitive. NOT!
If Suzuki made some real changes such as diesel in SX4, intro of a small pickup, new crossover type SUV, focus on customer service, etc., then I'd be impressed. My prediction for the summer demise of Suzuki Canada remains.
