Default Purolator synthetic oil filter

Started using the new Purolator synthetic oil filterin both my sx4.I have not found to many reviews of the new filter. So figure I post some pictures.Filter came out of my 2011 with 55,000 miles and using Amsoil motor oil. Filter was removed at 10k interval.I also included picture of new filter so everyone could ser the clean filter media. Filter media is similar to Amsoil/Donaldson and Royal Purple filter media. This filter is advertised up 10k miles with synthetic oil.

steel end caps on the filter media- that's a good sign! Some just are glorified cardboard.

Whatever the "label", there might be products of various qualities. But when I see jumping on "new names" like "synthetic" to boast "new" products seems very suspicious . More than often, the only new thing is the label itself....that usually comes with an overblown price. This has been demonstrated again and again in COnsumer's report. Other examples are "ecofriendly", "no trans fat" (for tomatoes....)..., reduced calories (for a smaller bottle at same or higher price)...etc...etc...
