Default Suzuki SX4 Sport 3rd brake light

I am having trouble trying to get to replace the third brake light in my suzuki sx4 sport 2008. It is not as easy as I thought it would be. Has someone done it before and would be so kind to help me with this? Thank you.

Cool

Third brake light? Is that the one above the rear window?

And, you need to replace it.....Why?

Jeff is our resident Suzuki tech, , , maybe he'll jump in here with an answer for you.

Welcome!

Default 3rd light is out

That's right. The third light is the one under the rear window. This brake light is out and I already received a $129 dollars ticket for this, even before receiving a warning, but that's another story. So, I need to replace it as soon as possible.

Default rear light

As you say UNDER the rear window, I presume you have a sedan?? The manual says get in the trunk, pinch the 2 plastic retaining clips while pushing up on them. This frees the high mount light inside the car for bulb replacement. If that doesn't work, check the wiring? If you have a hatchback, just open the hatch, look up and unscrew the 2 fasteners that hold the light housing. Have Fun!

Cool

Thank you, I was not sure what that light looks like or how to access it, since I have the Hatchback.
The light bar on the hatchback was written up extensively in another thread.
It only comes out with some effort! Or so I've been told.
Mine works fine, so I've not futzed with it.

Default To remove light assembly

You have to unscrew 2 screws, and then push out assembly.

Mine was stuck. I put cloth over a screw driver, inserted it into gap between the assembly and body, and turned over the screwdriver as if tightening a bolt. The assembly then slid out. Be careful not to scratch body or the glass.
