Sx-4 High Mileage Club

My wife and I purchased a brand new 2008 sx-4 and so far put 42k on it . It has been a very fun and reliable car. I realize the sx-4 has only been out for 3 years. Just wondering what kind of mileage everyone else has put on thier sx-4 and has anyone had serious issue at higher mileages?

2009 SX4 sport with 46,000 and no issues yet. Wheres the wood? The Garmin locks up sometimes and it has the newest firmware.

2008 SX-4 hatch, automatic AWD. That's in KM. It's had the converters replaced under emissions warranty and that's it aside from regular maintainence. The SRS light was some history codes for low voltage or something minor. The car is a courier car and travels between here and Edmonton daily as far as I understand. That picture was taken a few months ago - the car probably has close to 300,000km on it now.

i forgot that I did take it in for service a while back because of an airbag light. They had one of those TSB on it. Something about the seat sensor.

Ya the 2009 models needed the OCM in the passenger seat bottom reflashed to updated software. No biggie

I'm a five time Suzuki owner, because their engine is a real WorkHorse, and they are fun to drive.

I put 150,000 miles + on my 2000 Grand Vitara and somewhere over 60k on my 2006 Forenza without any major problems.

I'm at 15k+ now on my SX4 after 14 months and I'm still a very happy Suzuki owner. I haven't run into any RE-Flash problems yet. (fingers crossed)
With gas at just under $3 per gallon and other maintenance items going up every day, I'm joining the Low Mileage Club. Sometimes two or three days may go by and my car doesn't even leave the yard.

Sooner or later your SRS light will come on Wayne. It happens to all 2009 models. It's a simple reflash that takes 5mins

Generally most of the air bag light problems reported are for Honda's.
But here's one for the SX4

Another fun web site, all about the SX4.
Watch the video on changing the oil, and then NEVER do it the way they do.
Problems:
He just throws the jack under the front of the car without making sure its on a support member and not on something that the jack could CRUSH.
When he takes the Drain Plug out, he turns it down, which is almost guaranteeing that the flat drain plug washer will fall off into the oil catch basin.
Then his choice of an Oil Filter Wrench is seriously flawed. He uses a strap wrench, or so we're supposed to believe, instead of the proper Cap Wrench.
He then pulls out the Purolator filter that has the non-slip coating. In many cases, that coating goes all the way up and over the rubber seal. Then he sits the filter on the ground, seal side down. That's a good way to pick up dirt on the seal.
He didn't have a funnel so he made one out of a water bottle. Shoddy!

If you watch the vid, listen to that engine. It sounds like a coffee grinder!
All in all, I thought the vid was seriously flawed, if they are trying to teach novices how to properly change the oil in an SX4.
I think any of us who have changed their own oil, could have made a better video. Eh?

If you're kind of down and need a good laugh, do some Googling on the topic of your choice. I like Googling for anything Suzuki.
It doesn't take long to find something that will crack you up, like that Oil Change Video.
Watching that video, I was torn between laughing, crying or just shouting "You idiot!"
But if I did that, the neighbors would be saying "There he goes again!".
