Default OEM Auxiliary Input Cable

OK...after a lot of research, I decided to purchase the OEM Auxiliary input cable. I didn't want to drop the $200 for the iPod integration kit. Question is: although I do not expect the steering controls to operate as intended, I should be able to operate my MP3....right? I'm having the dealership install it in two days. 2008 SX4 Crossover Touring...Thanks group

Default OEM Auxiliary Input Cable

Once the auxiliary input cable is installed the AUX function of the OEM stereo will automatically become functional and when you select this function your MP3 player will be heared through the stereo. you will still need to use the MP3 palyer controls to select items to play, as I do with my Ipod. The AUX cable is just a simple plug in on the back of the stereo head unit that you can easily install yourself and save the installation cost.

Thanks...pretty much what I thought...but after looking at all the parts to pull out and knowing how I am...I let the dealerhip install; now if I could do it from behind, that would be a different story

You Can!! you can reach in from up under the dash on the passenger side and plig the cable into the back of the stereo head unit, then run the cable either into the glove box or run it along the bottom of the center dash and bring it out between the bottom dash shelf and the console.

Default AUX cable Debaucle

You're all gonna love this.......so, I go to the dealership for differential oil change, rotate tires, full inspection, etc...and AUX Cable installation, and I say: If the guy isn't certain how to install the cable, tell him don't do it; I'll do it myself. The doucheb*g busts the bezel surrounding the radio/console. I nearly lost my mind. Cost for work performed: $175.00. Cost to Dealership for replacement of bezel and install: $255.00 I will never ever do that again...from now on, I'll do the damned work. Stupid stoners.
