Default XM Radio functionality

I am contemplating purchasing the SX4 Crossover with Touring package and possibly the XM receiver. In my current Suzuki I replaced it with a Kenwood head unit that is Sirius ready and I have a Kenwood Sirius tuner. This sirius tuner is not capable of receiving the Best of XM package. It is about 5 years old, perhaps that is why.

My question, is the OEM XM receiver capable of receiving the Best of Sirius package? I would like to get NFL and Howard Stern.

Thanks

Yes. Anything available for XM is available on the oem receiver. I have had the oem receiver for a few months and it works just fine except I can't find a way to display all of the text for titles and names. Also, it cost me above 400 bucks to have installed. Some of the deluxe aftermarket receivers cost only $180 with full text display. One possible disadvantage is the aftermarket ones transmit to the fm which I think would be slightly lower sound quality. I don;t know for sure since I have'nt heard an aftermarket one.

For about the same money as the Suzuki XM receiver you can purchase a new HU and an aftermarket XM receiver that plugs into it.

I agree that the price for the OEM XM is ridiculous.

I have done the removal of the OEM radio on other cars I have had and just don't want to do it again. Perhaps if the car was 4-5 years old I would go that route.

I don't want to go the FM modulator or AUX in route either. I want a nice clean install with the steering wheel control functionality.

I have a skinny armed friend who can easily fit his arm to the back of the head unit. After that connection is made the rest is easy.

If I did not have the opportunity to but the XM at a substantially lower cost I wouldn't have considered the OEM XM box.

Does anyone have the installation instructions for the OEM XM (part # 990B0-35006) for the SX4 Crossover that they can scan and post or email or have a link to a location online that has it?

Thanks in advance.
