SX4 remote start
I am instaling a remote starter in our 08 SX4 crossover. The companies instructions for our installation requires that you hook up the tach wire from the kit. It says there is a black/white wire you tap into that goes to the tach in the instrument cluster. I've found the harness going to the instrument cluster. I have a portable tach that I can hook to the mentioned wire to make sure it is the tach wire. My question is, is it possible to overload this tach wire and damage the computer by attaching the remote starter to it? Any advise would be appreciated.
