Default found answer!

ok so i got a yakima low rider system and 48 inch bars, it worked perfectly and took about 20 min start to finish to do the whole thing. i also got the locks because i got expensive skis. i thought i could only get thule, but yakina works just right plus it has round bars so i can roll back the ski racks when not in use to save aerodynamics. that is impossible with a square bar thule POS system. now on to tires, any ideas? i used to have michelin harmony;s on my subaru, loved them. as of now thats what i am getting unless anyone has better ideas? looking for a rain/snow, not just pure snow, as the sierras have a mix of both a lot and slush is like a puddle.

how much did it cost you to get the low riders and the bars? and you buy new or used? i have been watching ebay for some lowriders, i already have some bars that are HUGE, so want the narrow 48s

I purchased a set of Firestone Winterforce snows, they have good rain and snow capabilities.

ok im sorry i have to admit i almost wrote out a very snide comment...but after rereading the post he did follow up the first thread asking about tires - my bad.

but if you are a suzuki supporter, you should look into the CRAP that consumer reports reports

and if you dont get it....oh well

Default prices

sorry took so long to reply... the whole thing was like 300 but i got a few other things like a ticket to the warren miller movie which included a free pass to heavenly. the fairing is a must, it was so windy at first. i have the smallest fairing, i think i need a bigger one, but it seems to work. the 48 inch bars are perfect, no chance of hitting your head on them!

Default tires

thanks for the tire info too, i dont want a pure snow tire, too soft and bad handling. ill stick with the michelin harmony, plus most snow here in the sierras is very watery and so a rain tire works better. my borther got the coopers, he loves them, BTW, same car, he is sx4parkcity

Default Rack and tires

Cool info on the Yakima rack, and I roll with Cooper CS4-t's on my car. The crappy OEM tour-on-za's did better then expcted last winter, but I know thats mostly the car's handling and ESP. I don't have the budget now for winter wheel set like I wanted!
