Hi all,

I tried setting the automatic volume control on my 2007 sx4 the other day and it doesn't seem to have any effect at all. Am I missing something or is the thing just defective?

drive faster and it will get louder to compensate for the road noise. thats pretty much it. it works best with cd's, and only a little with the radio.

I guess I misunderstood the feature. I was using it with the radio thinking that the volume would go down automatically from wherever the level was set. I didn't think that it would go up with speed and back down to the preset level. Does that sound right?

yeah its made to compensate for higher road noise at higher speeds. so you dont have to turn the volume up more. my dads honda goldwing motorcycle had this same feature back in 1993 on its radio.
