Default brakes?

Quick question -- has anyone had "low" brake fluid issues? A few weeks ago I noticed a light coming on while driving thru some corners (a tad on the hard side). the other day I was able to track it down to the brake light, as it is now staying on longer then before to the point now that it stays on for a sec or two after the corner.

Also the pedal feels a tad soft when used for the 1st time after not using the brakes for awhile.

I did check the brake resovoir and it shows no fluid near the "min" line. in fact I don't see any at all?

I called the dealer and they said it most likly needs new brakes? Maybe I'm just cheap - but should a modern car need a brake jon at only 22k miles (mostly highway)

any thoughts?

It all depends on how hard you use the brakes. I know on my mothers '05 Cobalt it has about 48K miles on the original pads.

some OEM pads will wear down as little as 22k miles. Whats nice is most good brake shops will inspect your brakes free of charge, like Midas.

If the brake pads are like the crappy bridgestone tires, you probably need new pads. The set from roadrace would a good upgrade.
