Default iPod adapter

We had the adapter installed at our dealer. We didn't want to have to deal with any warranty problems down the road.

Tim,

Are cables still for sale? Do they work with the GPS installed?

Love my Silver Hatchback with the Tech package but could use a mp3 cable.

Default Cale Only

Suzuki does sell just the cable. Works with all MP3, iPod, etc. You won't have steering control button use though. Pick up an MP3 holder for use--fumbling with these while driving isn't cool.

Default Options?

So what options are there for cables/docks for the iPod? I just bought my Sx4 last Friday and it does have the Navigation.

Is there a way to somehow make use of the navigation spot as an iPod dock? Where is everyone else mounting their iPod, if they're mounting it at all?

I'm looking for something that will allow me to connect and play every song on my entire iPod, not some 6 playlist junk. You have what I'm looking for Tim?

And why hasn't anyone posted one single photo of what theirs looks like installed? That's what the original poster asked back in 2006, lol!

Israel,

Take a look at the CCA-iPod interface. It will allow full control of your iPod and uses the CENET socket, so it does not interfere with the GPS.

Cheers,

Tim

Hi Tim,

Thanks for the reply...

So is this about what you are talking about? -> Clarion CCA-iPod iPod® Interface Cable Control your iPod from select Clarion receivers at Crutchfield.com

Haven't gotten my manual and haven't researched completely yet, but assume my factory stereo might be Clarion? So it has the capability to plugin the interface you mentioned?

From the details on Crutchfield's site I'll have full playback control and be able to do everything from my stereo controls... Sounds nice! Also looks like the iPod controls are still active.

So where's everybody mounting theirs? Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Israel

Israel,

If your radio has a model code starting with CLCR, then it's a Clarion..

Where are you located?

You can mount the CCA unit behind the dash and run the docking cable into the glove box. That keeps your iPod out of sight

Cheers,

Tim

Hey Tim,

Thanks for answering all these questions!

I'm in the Houston area... I turned my car back in for scratch repair and the rest of my factory equipment that I am missing, so I can't look at any model code at the moment... Where would I find it though?

I can definitely understand keeping the iPod out of site. I'd probably be more inclined to dock it and have it at arms length though, incase I'd rather use the iPod controls. I guess we'll see how I feel once I get the cable!

Thanks,

Israel

Israel,

If you are in the USA and you have a 2008 or 2009 SX4 the CCA interface will work, no need to check the model number.

Also, the iPod is locked when it is plugged in to the docking cable, you can only use the radio controls, so there is no need to keep it within reach.

Cheers,

Tim
