for the sake of $200 i bought the cnet ipod adapter and it works fine, the only problem was i couldnt find a suitable spot to mount the control box for it, but the cable was long enough i ran it under the center console trim and stuck it behind my sub under the drivers seat then ran the cable from the box back up the console to where the shifter trim joins the dash trim and into my ipod touch....
the ipod never moves except to change the play lists...
volume is a bit sad (33) considering the setup and the factory clarion sub, and a cd is much louder.... a cd at 25 would be equivilant to the 33 through the ipod aux. its enough to annoy the neighbours.
HI have the IPOD NANO, and also have the stock clarion aux interface unit. I love it and it works very well. Regarding the sound level, it is a setting in you IPOD. My sounds is fine at 20 or 22. There are some configurations you can change in I TUNES to adjust the equilizer and sound limiting also. Give this a try. Any way I have had no problem with my and the level is same as a CD.
Tim's cable is the way to go. Well worth it. A dopey friend of my wife yanked on really hard the other day and now it keeps kicking back to the CD though. He is no longer allowed in the vehicle. I might be getting another one, I have not checked to see if the connection is just loose yet, too cold outside. Buy Tim's cable.
Does anyone have any tips, or the procedure for accessing the back of the radio? How do you pull the radio, and also how do you remove the panel above the "information display" at the top of the dash. I've got an annoying buzz from that area, and I would like to try adding some foam strips under the panel somewhere.
if you're just installing the ipod cable, you reach the back of the radio simply by pulling out the glove box, you'll find enough space to get your hand in there. you may also need to stick your head in there to see where the connector plugs in... its a little tricky but beats damaging the chrome trim
Problems with Clarion Interface losing it's presets.
I had the Clarion 125 unit installed at the Suzuki dealership last month. It works fine if I'm in and out of the truck during the day but for some reason it wants to restart from the beginning of my music list each and every morning after the truck sits over night.
I've also noticed that the factory head unit reverts back to Repeat Mode if I shut off the ignition and turn it back on. Aren't Presets supposed to stay preset??
The dealership is trying to say that the unit is functioning correctly. I say they are full of it.
Any suggestions or help would be great.
Thank You
I have the Clarion unit and yes, it takes it off random and back to repeat if you turn the ignition off and then back on again. A bit of a pain but a push of one btton restores it. I don't have the restarting from the beginning of the playlist problem though, that I can recall.

Jakey,
I don't know. It just isn't right. All that money to have something perform incorrectly. If it don't work right it must be junk. Sounds like Suzuki and Clarion have both failed to do their home work. Should have saved some bucks and just bought Tim's adapter.
Thanks
George
