Default Erratic idling

Hi,
I bought a 2001 swift 3 cylinder manual. She drives fine but idles around 1000 to 1500 rpm. I noticed this when cold but even after the engine got hot there was no change in the idle rpm.

Please advise.

I read that a vac. leak, such as intake manifold, can cause such issues. The O2 sensor reads the high level of oxygen in the exhaust flow, the computer will compensate be adding fuel= RPM goes up. I have not seen this myself.

You may try cleaning or even replacing the idle electric valve...it can get stuck with some kind of black grease from the fuel vapors of the intake manifold. I think it's the big piece(2.5 cm in diameter), on the far side of the manifold as you face the engine...some kind of black plastic cylinder, with some wires coming out from the top...
